Our Amazing Board of Directors!

Sara Nelson

Having moved to Las Vegas in 1984, Sara watched as the city around her began to take shape.  Being exposed to the world of urban planning, land development and architecture from an early age, it was no surprise that she would continue down that path.  With over 15 year of experience in project management, operations and construction design, Sara brings a wealth of knowledge to Blackford, LLC.   After obtaining her degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, she began working for MSI Development, designing and estimating a wide range of projects.  Seeing an opportunity to utilize her business and organizational knowledge, Sara worked her way up to Operations Director in just over a year.  There, she not only found a passion for everything business but realized that she had a talent for project management both on the GC and Sub sides.  Her career continued at Arizona Civil Constructors, Inc.  a company that she helped to start.  At AZ Civil she increased her project management experience to include tenant improvement, commercial, residential (including custom homes), public works and multiple projects along the Las Vegas Strip. These included Planet Hollywood, Vdara, Cosmopolitan, Wynn and Encore.  Along with her project management duties other responsibilities included oversight of estimating, design, purchasing, human resources, accounting and day to day business operations.
